Hello everyone, my name is Jennifer Shaw, and I am an immigration consultant for LMIA Pro.
I wanted to let you know about some exciting changes taking place in Canadian immigration. You may be familiar with the four-digit NOC codes that are used to classify occupations. Recently, these codes have been reclassified as TEER codes, which stand for Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities. These codes are now five digits.
These changes are relevant because the Express Entry program is now targeting specific candidates who have the training, education, and experience that Canadian employers need to fill in-demand occupations in different provinces across Canada. While the new program has not yet been launched, it will be coming soon with more details about who can apply.
If you are planning on immigrating to Canada permanently, it is crucial that you obtain your WES (Education Credential Assessment) and IELTS (English testing) as soon as possible. These documents are essential for applying to the Express Entry program or any Provincial Nominee Program for permanent residency in Canada.
It has been announced that Canada plans to immigrate 465,000 candidates in 2023, and up to 500,000 in 2025, which is double the number of immigrants the country has welcomed in the past. The world of immigration is constantly evolving, and I will do my best to keep you informed.
Until next time, have a great day and happy new year.
